Mississippi Brilla FC pulled off one of the upsets of the US Open Cup Second Round by defeating the Indy Eleven 1-0 tonight. A crowd of around 900 Central Mississippians witnessed what could arguably be the biggest win in Brilla's history. Defender Koray Easterling scored the lone goal in the 81st minute when he side-footed an Oliver Brock free-kick into the back of the net.

The match was cagey for long periods, but the Indy Eleven had the larger share of the possession. The team looked calm and composed in their buildup. Towards the latter part of the...

The tournament is where dreams are born and, more often than not, die. It is where Cinderella teams take a stab at teams they should not have a chance against. It is where David faces off against Goliath. And it is where Mississippi Brilla FC will host Indy Eleven.

  • As the old saying goes, “Don’t fix something that isn’t broken.” After arguably the best season in their 11 years in the Premier Development League, Mississippi Brilla FC will begin the 2018 season with a core group of players that led them to the national semi-finals in 2017.

“Turnover is inevitable in the PDL,” said Rusty Bryant, Brilla’s General Manager. “Anytime you can return players that are familiar with each other and familiar with the culture of the team, you are way ahead of the game.”

When Brilla kicks off its 2018 season in the newly formed Deep South Division...
