Four unanswered goals propel Brilla past Krewe

CLINTON, Miss. - It's safe to say that Mississippi Brilla FC's wingers did not lack any confidence in front of the goal on Saturday night. They provided all of the scoring for the team. Two goals from Jamie DiLuzio and a goal each from Peyton Voelker and Miguel Fernandez helped Brilla secure a 4-1 win over the visiting Louisiana Krewe tonight. For the second time this season, Brilla was able to get at least a point after trailing in a match.

The visitors from Lafayette, Louisiana took the lead in the sixth minute of action. Their striker, Quesi Weston, broke free and placed a shot into the bottom corner.

However, Brilla would not wait long for the equalizer. In the 13th minute, DiLuzio was brought down inside the box. The New Yorker confidently stepped up to the penalty spot and buried the shot past the Krewe goalkeeper.

DiLuzio would eventually give Brilla the lead for good in the 25th minute. The goal started from a brilliant turn from midfielder Marco Astorga after he received a pass. He slipped in a pass to Voelker, who then hit a cross into the six-yard box. DiLuzio one-timed the ball into the back of the net for his second goal of the game.

Brilla's third goal would come via Voelker eight minutes later. Midfielder Ocho Fasteen played a nicely weighted pass into Voelker's path, and Voelker outpaced the defense and goalkeeper before slotting the ball into an empty net.

With both teams reduced to ten players after a spat at midfield, the match opened up a bit. Two substitutes would then combine for Brilla's final goal after a long scoring hiatus.

In the 79th minute, Nika Monaselidze cut through the Krewe defense with a quality pass into Fernandez's path. The keeper tried to cut off the Spaniard's angle, but Fernandez was able to squeeze the ball past him into the net.
