Brilla falls to Krewe in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. - Mississippi Brilla FC fell to Louisiana Krewe FC 3-1 in Mid South Division action tonight. The loss drops Brilla to 5-3-1 while the Krewe moves to 4-1-4.

The home team opened the scoring in the 11th minute. A loose ball wasn't dealt with by the Brilla defense, and the Krewe's winger was able to put the ball into the back of the net.

The Krewe's second goal came in the 21st minute, when a cross from the wing was headed home by their striker. They then added the third in first half stoppage-time time through a penalty kick.

Franck Kouentchi got Brilla on the board with 13 minutes remaining in the match. Jamie DiLuzio was fouled inside the box, and Kouentchi stepped up and buried the penalty. The goal was Kouentchi's sixth of the season.

Next Game

Brilla will be back in action next Saturday night with a road game against the Little Rock Rangers. Kickoff from War Memorial Stadium is set for 7:00 p.m.
