Seven-goal performance helps Brilla pick up three points

CLINTON, Miss. - Lightning struck twice for Mississippi Brilla FC this season, as the team picked up all three points with a 7-0 win over LA Parish AC on Wednesday evening. This was Brilla's second win of the season by same scoreline against the visitors from Baton Rouge.

Peyton Voelker opened the scoring for Brilla in the 17th minute. The genesis of the attack was David Trevizo’s tackle and ensuing pass to Marco Astorga. Astorga played a well-weighted pass to Voelker, who slotted the shot off the post and into the net.

Miguel Fernandez doubled Brilla’s lead in the 30th minute. After a patient buildup, Franck Kouentchi turned and fired a pass into Fernandez's path. The Spaniard put the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper into the net.

Voelker would give Brilla a third goal just three minutes later. After Remi Emeriau did well to find him from a cross, Voelker kept his composure and one-timed the ball into the net.

Brilla's fourth would come in the 73rd minute from the foot of Kouentchi. After Praise Ayeni's cross was blocked by the arm of a Parish defender, the Parisian stepped up to take the penalty kick. After a casual run-up, he buried the ball into the bottom left corner.

Josh Davies would grab Brilla's fifth goal in the 76th minute. After pressure from Davies led to a Parish mistake, Kouentchi laid a pass back into the Englishman's path. Davies thumped the ball into the roof of the net, giving him his first goal of the season.

Marco Astorga would make it six for Brilla eight minutes later. After midfielder Ethan Unger played a pass to the El Pasoan's feet, Astorga spectacularly lashed the ball into the back of the net from 25 yards away.

Evan Windham would complete the scoring in the 89th minute. Astorga lifted a through ball into Windham's path. Windham took his time and placed his shot into the bottom left corner for Brilla's seventh.

Brilla outshot Parish 26-3. Goalkeeper Andreas Kokoska picked up the win in his first start of the season.
