Joining Brilla as returning members of the Mid South Division are second year franchise Little Rock Rangers and USL2 veteran Texas United. Texas United joined Mississippi Brilla FC in the playoffs in 2021, while the Ranger’s successful first season fell just short of a playoff bid after dropping their final match of the regular season. Mississippi will open the 2022 campaign with a home contest against the Little Rock Rangers on Saturday, May 21. The match is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Clinton High School Arrow Stadium.
The highlight of the newly released schedule is the potential for new rivalries with three teams that are just one state over in Louisiana. The additions of Blue Goose SC (Shreveport, LA), LA Krewe FC (Lafayette, LA), and a newly formed Baton Rouge, LA club will certainly excite the fans, staff, and players of Brilla.
“The additions of the Louisiana teams are huge for our club and our fans,” said Executive Director Rusty Bryant. “Our travel will be much easier to manage this summer, and the new teams provide a great opportunity for our fans to hit the road for some closer road trips. We expect some fun rivalries to begin this summer."
The road schedule includes trips to all five division opponents, as well as second away trips to Baton Rouge and Shreveport. The seven game home schedule features five Saturday matches, along with two midweek games on Thursday, June 16 and Wednesday, June 22. The complete 2022 schedule can be found HERE.
Single match tickets and season passes will go on sale in the next few weeks.
