Tuesday, November 30 is Giving Tuesday. What is Giving Tuesday? "Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity around the world.”
For the last several years, Brilla Soccer Ministries has participated in Giving Tuesday by focusing our fundraising efforts for one day on a specific area of our ministry that often goes underfunded. With our new Global Football Alliance initiative, we have a number of projects with our international partners that we are planning to be involved with in 2022. All funds donated through our website from 12:00 am through 11:59 pm on Tuesday, November 30 will go directly to our international missions budget.
Here are three specific partners and projects that we are planning to be involved with in 2022:
1. Azira Micheal Foundation - Former Brilla player, Mike Azira, is continuing to impact lives in his home country of Uganda. He recently broke ground on 3 soccer fields at his residential training facility that will be used to house student athletes and provide them with education, food, and soccer training. A portion of our GivingTuesday donations will go to help the building of the soccer fields.
2. Brilla Life Mexico - Our good friend, partner, and original missionary contact from 1996, Ben Argil, has begun hosting an evangelistic soccer league in Mexico as part of his ministry there. Using donated funds on GivingTuesday, our goal is to send a team to Mexico in 2022 to participate in his efforts to reach the soccer community.
3. Brilla Costa Rica - Allan Sanchez gave his life to Christ in 1996 as a teenager in Costa Rica when our original Brilla team visited his country on our first mission trip. He is now our partner in ministry in Costa Rica, using soccer to reach people for Christ throughout Central America. The pandemic has delayed us sending a mission team to Costa Rica for the last couple of years, but we are planning to take a team to work with Allan in 2022.
