Adrian Morales scored the game winning goal in the Big South Conference Championship on Sunday. The assist was provided by fellow Brilla teammate, Jake Morris. Morris tallied 5 goals and 5 assists to help lead the Camels to a 15-3-2 record and Big South Regular Season and Tournament titles. Morales added 2 assists on the season, while Jalen James provided 4 goals. James and Morales were both limited by injuries throughout the season. The Camels will travel to VA Tech on Thursday for the first round of the NCAA D1 Tournament.
Louisville Cardinals Earn At-Large Bid to NCAA Tournament
Jamie Diluzio and Jack “Ocho” Fasteen saw their season extended after finishing the ACC season with a 10-6-1 record. Both Brilla players earned a handful of starts throughout the Cardinal’s successful campaign, with Diluzio picking up 2 assists on the season. Louisville plays Bowling Green on Thursday in the NCAA D1 Tournament.
Azusa Pacific Captures PacWest Title
James Ndubueze assisted on the game-winning goal to capture Azusa’s third straight PacWest title. Orlando Lozano, Ndubueze (6 goals, 3 assists), Marco Astorga (4 goals, 4 assists), and David Medeiros (5 assists) were all instrumental in Azusa’s successful 12-2-2 season.
Alzate and Bryant Wrap Up Season with Davidson
Mateo Alzate captained and started 16 games for the 9-7-2 Wildcats, picking up 2 assists. Luke Bryant suffered an early injury and was limited to 4 starts, but tallied a goal and an assist, including the lone goal in the A-10 Conference quarterfinals.
Chemin Shines for Mississippi College
Aurele Chemin earned the Gulf South Conference Co-Defender of the Year Award as he tallied 2 goals and 2 assists for the 10-6-1 Choctaws. GK Alejandro Chavarria (Chava) gave up only 13 goals in 17 games. Grant Hudson (12 starts), Peyton Ratcliff (9 starts), and Santi Diosa (7 starts, 2 assists) all contributed to the Choctaw’s winning record.
Bell Leads MS Gulf Coast CC to State Championship
Michael Bell tallied 4 goals on the season, including 2 in the playoffs, to propel MS Gulf Coast to the State JUCO Championship.
Herrera Soaring as Georgia Military College Heads into JUCO National Tournament
Juan David (JD) Herrera scored 8 goals and added 4 assists to lead Georgia Military College to a 12-2-1 record.
Other Notable Performances:
Remi Emeriau finished the season with 5 goals and 5 assists to pace Delta State University.
Arnold Onyango earned several starts in the midfield for 7-9 Liberty University.
Jonathan Burke manned the net for Eastern Illinois University and gave up 19 goals in 12 games.
Miles Sims made 4 appearances for Howard University in his first college season.
