Bentley, Dambo, and Pelaez added to Brilla coaching staff

CLINTON, Miss. - Mississippi Brilla FC is pleased to announce its assistant coaches for the 2022 USL League Two season. Chris Bentley, Luckson Dambo, and Humberto Pelaez will join Head Coach Matt Horth's staff this summer.

Bentley – a Halifax, Nova Scotia native – is currently the technical director for the Colorado Rapids youth teams. He is still the winningest coach in Troy women's soccer history with 54 victories, and he led the team to five conference postseason berths in the process. He also previously spent time in the Magnolia State with Delta State, where he was the associate head coach for the men's and women's soccer teams.

Dambo has played for Coach Horth at Gordon College for four years. The Belmont, Massachusetts native tallied 13 goals and seven assists in 39 starts for the Scots. Dambo, who was also a 2021 NCAA All-Region selection, scored the game-winning goal in overtime to clinch his team the conference championship and secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Pelaez will return for his third season with Brilla. The Panama City, Panama native had a decorated four-year playing career with Mississippi College where he was named 2016 GSC Player of the Year as well as GSC Goalkeeper of the Decade. He currently is the Director of Goalkeeping for Rankin Soccer Club while also serving as a coach for Mississippi Rush United.

"I'm pleased to announce the additions of Chris, Humberto, and Luckson to our coaching staff this summer," Coach Horth stated.

"Each of them are quality coaches who have tremendous ability to get the best out of their players. They will no doubt play a large role in helping the next wave of Brilla players reach the professional ranks."

Mississippi Brilla FC will be kicking off its 15th season with a home game against the Little Rock Rangers on May 21st. Kickoff from Clinton High School is set for 7:00 p.m, and tickets can be purchased HERE.
