BRYAN, Texas - Playoff bound! Mississippi Brilla FC clinched a postseason berth with a 5-0 road win over the Brazos Valley Cavalry tonight. Five second-half goals provided the difference for the team.
Ciro Damine opened the scoring in the 59th minute. Defender Luke Bryant delivered a cross that the defense deflected into the path of Damine. The Argentine thumped the ball into the back of the net for his seventh goal of the season.
Jalen James doubled Brilla’s lead in the 63rd minute. Ocho Fasteen threaded a nice pass into James, and the winger buried it into the back of the net.
The third goal came from James Ndubueze in the 75th minute. The speedy Arturo Astorga went on a run into the box, and he delivered a pinpoint cross for his former Azusa Pacific teammate. The German supersub made no mistake with the finish.
Remi Emeriau pounced on a late opportunity and grabbed Brilla’s fourth goal. With the Cavalry committing numbers forward, the ball found Ndubueze in space. He hit a cross into the path of Emeriau, and the Frenchman calmly put the ball into the net.
Juan David Herrera rounded out the scoring just a minute from the end of the match. Fasteen played a nice pass into space for Remi Emeriau, and Emeriau teed up Herrera. Herrera one-timed it into the goal for his first goal of the season.

Mississippi Brilla FC will be at home on Wednesday night to face the AHFC Royals. Kickoff will be at 7:00 p.m. at Clinton High School.
