The University of Nebraska Omaha has become the latest program to send multiple players to Mississippi to compete in the Premier Development League this summer. The Mavericks compete in the NCAA Division I Summit League, and recently completed a successful 10-5-2 season.
Emir Alihodzic, a junior from St. Louis, MO, comes to Brilla as a highly touted defensive center midfielder. Originally from Bosnia, Alihodzic logged nearly 1400 minutes in 17 games played for the Mavericks in the Fall. He was named 2nd Team All-Summit League.

Both players are coming off of strong college seasons in which they led their teams to NAIA national rankings. Ibarra’s UT-Brownsville team finished 24-1 with a #2 final ranking. Their lone defeat came in the national championship match. Obradovic helped guide Oklahoma Wesleyan to a #23 national ranking and a 14-5-2 record.

Carlos Garces, a sophomore midfielder from Cali, Columbia, earned 2nd Team NAIA All-American honors while tallying 8 goals and 10 assists. He was also named to the NSCAA All-Mideast Region Team.

Mississippi Brilla FC continues to add to its 2015 Premier Development League team with the announcement of two college standouts originally from Santiago, Chile. Manuel Saez will be returning for a second season, while Ignacio Flores becomes the first new signing announced for the upcoming season.

As Mississippi Brilla fielded division championship teams from 2009-2011, a characteristic of those teams was the ability to retain key players from year to year. The 9th year Premier Development League team believes it is on pace to surpass the success of those previous teams with the signing of a number of veterans. The first of those commitments, pending USL approval, are defenders Cedric Muteshi and Dustin Ashley.
