  • Sergio Royo Baptized

We are excited to share with you that one of our PDL players from the summer prayed to receive Christ and was baptized recently in Spain. Sergio Royo was one of our returning players that had taken a real interest in the Gospel, and we had been investing in him over the past year. We are blessed to be a part of impacting life change in players like Sergio.

Watch the video of his baptism below.

Goals from Mike Lightbourne and David Stoll were enough to give the St. Louis FC U-23s a 2-1 win over Brilla at Traceway Park.  The game was delayed for over two hours, and in the end, both teams agreed to play only one half.

Lightbourne opened up the scoring in the 2nd minute.  The Missouri State product received a pass from striker Ezana Kahsay and placed a driven shot past the outstretched hands of Brendan Ledgeway.

Brilla's equalizer came just four minutes later.  Ignacio Flores scored one of the most unorthodox goals of his career when he...

Both Brilla and the St. Louis U-23s shared the spoils at Traceway Park tonight.  A 1-1 tie was the result in the teams' third meeting of the season.

Brilla opened up the scoring very late in the 75th minute.  Substitute midfielder Eduardo Cruz, who is always a threat in dead ball situations, placed a well weighted free kick onto captain Ignacio Flores' head.  The skipper made no mistake about the finish, flicking the ball past St. Louis keeper Benjamin Lundt's outstretched hands.  It was Flores' second goal of the season.

However, St. Louis would equalize only two...

Tomorrow, the boys in Carolina blue will hit the road and travel to the Atlanta Metro Area for a weekend showdown with Peachtree City MOBA.  This match will be a rematch from the season opener in Clinton, which Brilla won 2-1. Both teams haven't had the seasons that they have wanted, but they both will relish a chance to hit the season's final stretch on a high note.

Peachtree City currently have a 3-8 record in their debut PDL season.  Five of those losses have come by just one goal, so the team has been competitive.

After 90 minutes of regular play, Brilla looked to be headed towards three points tonight against the Midland Odessa Sockers.  However, things did not go as planned in stoppage time.  Nate Coons' equalizer in added time canceled out Oscar Jimenez's opener and rescued a vital point for the Sockers.  1-1 was the final score at Traceway Park.

The first half ended scoreless, but Jimenez was able to begin the scoring early in the second half.  In the 48th minute, he latched onto a Sockers' poor pass and drove towards the goal.  His shot flew past the outstretched...

  • Mississippi Brilla entered Thursday’s home match needing a win in order to keep their hopes alive of catching up with their opponent and Mid-South Division leader, the Midland/Odessa Sockers. Despite a commanding first half, Brilla would ultimately fall short, losing 2-1.
Brilla started the match strongly with forward Newton Henry creating several chances to score. He finally broke through in the 17th minute when Jake McCain’s pass found Henry inside the penalty area. Henry slotted the ball into the Sockers net to put the home team up 1-0.
    The Sockers regained their footing...
