Despringre, Bourrier to Make Brilla Debuts This Summer

By Datti Jinkiri

Mississippi Brilla FC coach Mark McKeever continues to bring in more talent with the latest additions of Frenchmen Jeremy Despringre and Thibaut Bourrier, pending league approval.  The two are the latest Frenchmen to commit their summers to Brilla in the Premier Development League, following countrymen Thomas Vancaeyezeele and Enzo Giuliani.

Despringre recently finished his first season at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he made 14 starts at the heart of their midfield.  This summer should be a key point in springing him forward in his career.  McKeever is expecting Despringre to be a key contributor to his Brilla side.

“Jeremy is a player that will bring much athleticism and work rate to the team,” he stated. “Jeremy’s ability to stop our opponents' play, and also initiate quality on the ball will be integral to our teams success. He is a player that enjoys playing forward and with the quality we have this year in the attacking 3rd, I feel that his role will be huge. Having been a big part of FDU last year, Jeremy has all the qualities I am looking for in a midfielder, and I feel that he can have a great summer in the PDL.”

Bourrier made 15 starts for Urbana (OH) University and scored a team-high nine goals.  The junior also added one assist, and he was named to the All-Ohio Second Team.   He was an integral part of an Urbana team that made it to the third round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.

“Thibaut is a quality player who I expect to go on and play in the professional game after his college career,” McKeever said.  “He is tremendously talented on the ball, and his creativity will be a key factor in Brilla winning games this summer. Thibaut has a great mentality to succeed, and this winning mentality is an important ingredient in this year’s make up. I am hoping that a successful summer for him can lead to a bigger stage in the soccer world for him. I am really excited to see what he can achieve in a Brilla jersey.”

Brilla will open the 2017 PDL season with a May 20th  road game against Peachtree City MOBA.
