Premier Development League franchises change the fabric of their team year after year. Mississippi Brilla FC is no exception, so it is a welcome change when a familiar name returns. Jordan Bell, a key component of Brilla's 2015 division winning side, will be returning to Clinton, MS for the upcoming season.
Bell was a standout goalkeeper at Upper Iowa University from 2010-2014. The Glasgow, Scotland native made 53 starts and made over 320 saves in his career. His senior season was arguably his best, as he led the Peacocks to their first ever MIAA Conference Tournament appearance.
After leaving school, Bell became the goalkeeper coach at Young Harris University. During his lone year there, he helped the team to a Peach Belt Conference championship and an Elite 8 appearance in the NCAA Tournament. This past season, Bell was the graduate assistant at his alma mater, where the Peacocks posted an 8-9 record.
“Jordan will return to Brilla as my captain this year. He brings great leadership, commitment, loyalty and goalkeeping ability,” McKeever stated. “I will lean on Jordan to create a professional environment at training, games, and even the players' free time. Jordan’s professional mentality is one of the strongest I have worked with, and I am positive his productive influence on other players will be infectious.”
Mississippi Brilla will kick off its 11th season in the PDL with a May 20th road game against Peachtree City MOBA.
