Interview by Datti Jinkiri
Ever since Brilla’s inaugural season in 2007, the staff has been a fixture at the USL Winter Summit. Every meeting has been a little bit different than the next. I was able to interview Scott Taylor and Rusty Bryant about their experience at this year’s summit. Here are their responses.
DJ: Where was the summit held?
Scott Taylor: “The Winter Summit was held at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Clearwater, FL. This is the 4th or 5th year since they moved it out of downtown Tampa, and we enjoy it a lot more...

“I remember last year at this time I got called to my coach’s office here at UNOH to talk about PDL opportunities. A few team names came up, but having two of my teammates from my university on my PDL team was a plus, of course. Josh Barrera had another solid season for the local Mississippi College Choctaws. The Houston...Manuel “Manu” Saez and Ignacio “Nacho" Flores were standouts for Mississippi Brilla FC this past summer. Although both are from Chile, the two did not know each other well before traveling down to Mississippi together in May. In fact, they compete against each other during the year as they play for rival college soccer teams from the same conference. Saez is a senior at Hannibal-LaGrange University, and Flores is a senior at Park University. Both schools are in Missouri, and both compete in the American Midwest Conference. College rivals on the field, but now teammates for life because of Brilla....
