Brilla center-back Chakib Hocine has been a dangerous asset on set pieces all season, and he made the most of his opportunity tonight.  Hocine's 88th minute header from a Carlos Garces free kick gave Brilla a 4-3 win over SIMA and thus propelled them into Saturday's Southern Conference Championship Game.  Hocine's aerial ability has now put him on the scoresheet in his last two matches.

SIMA opened up the scoring in the 29th minute.  Forward Santiago Patino went down in the box, and the referee awarded the Aguilas the penalty kick.  Rafael Santos stepped up and put...

Brilla ended the PDL regular season on a major tonight by easily defeating Texas United 7-1. The team had clinched a playoff spot last weekend and did not miss a beat. Seven different goalscorers found the net for the home team.

Only four minutes had past when Brilla opened up the scoring. Carlos Garces curled a corner kick onto the head of defender Chakib Hocine. Hocine rose up and buried the header past goal keeper Adam Zehme.

Javen Palmer doubled the lead just five minutes later. Winger Sinclaire Sandy made a driving run into the box and was taken...

  • For the second match in a row, Mississippi Brilla dropped points to a team who, on paper, they should have beaten.

After a 0-0 draw with Houston FC on Thursday night, Brilla welcomed Peachtree City MOBA, who sit in last place in the 11-team South Atlantic Division with a record of 2-7-1.

Brilla had already beaten their guests 2-0 in Peachtree City back on May 20.

After a 75-minute weather delay, Brilla started the match brightly, scoring in just the 5th minute after Carlos Garces found André De Giorgi with an incisive pass. De Giorgi drove at the MOBA goal and hammered home...

Last weekend, Brilla returned back home in high spirits after an impressive roadtrip in Oklahoma City.  Four points out of six was the outcome against the Mid South Division leaders.  However, tonight at Clinton High School,  they were held to a scoreless draw by a  resilient Houston FC team.  Brilla will definitely see this outcome as a letdown, because they believe that they should have grabbed all three points.  The team had a lion's share of the possession for most of the match, but could not convert that into goals.

The team's best opportunities came in the...

With seven games played, Brilla is well on its way to a successful season and potential playoff appearance.  The team has won five games, meaning that it has already surpassed last season's win total of four.  Currently, they sit in 2nd place in the Mid-South Division standings.  The team is 12 points behind the Oklahoma City Energy U-23s, but the Energy have played two more matches.

Brilla's attacking prowess has been spread out amongst a number of players.  Four players are tied atop the team's goalscoring charts.  Andre De Giorgi, Nicco Mastrangelo, Thibaut Bourrier, and Bader Boulajoul...
