CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Mississippi Brilla FC completed its first Texas road-trip of the season with a 0-0 draw against Corpus Christi FC. This was Brilla's second consecutive draw of the season. However, the team kept its unbeaten streak alive and continues to sit atop the USL League Two's Mid South Division.
There were few opportunities created by either team in the first half. One of Brilla's best chances of the half came in the 8th minute, when Jalen James' shot flew just wide of the post.
Alejandro Chavarria started the match between the sticks and got his second shutout of the season. He made a huge save in the 29th minute to deny Corpus Christi the opening goal.
Forward Ciro Damine came into the match in the second half and tried to make a difference. His 71st minute header from a corner kick was saved.
Brilla pressed in the final minutes to try and secure the victory, but a couple of opportunities from James and Jake Morris went over the bar.
