Brilla Fights Back From Two-Goal Deficit to Stay Unbeaten

HOUSTON, Texas. - Mississippi Brilla FC upped its unbeaten streak to four after tying the AHFC Royals 2-2 . The team dramatically fought its way from a two-goal, second half deficit.

Brilla's first two chances in the match came in the first couple of minutes. Both chances fell to in-form forward Ciro Damine, but he shot wide and hit the post.

The Royals took the lead in the 10th minute, when an unmarked player at the back post headed home a corner kick. This would be the only score of the half, and the Royals went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

The Royals doubled their lead when they pounced on a defensive error. Their #10 made no mistake with the finish.

However, Damine handed Brilla a lifeline in the 60th minute. Jake Morris' cross was parried away, but Damine thumped the ball home after a mad scramble. The goal was Damine's 4th of the season.

The equalizer came in the 89th minute from substitute forward James Ndubueze. Jalen James' cross from the right wing found the German, who spectacularly scissor-kicked it home. Ndubueze has played the super-sub role for Brilla, as each of his three goals have come after he's been brought into the match.
