Mississippi Brilla Announces Summer Camp Series

With summer just around the corner, Mississippi Brilla FC is preparing to train young soccer players through its summer camp series. Brilla represents the highest level of soccer in the state of Mississippi through its Premier Development League team, and the team uses its experienced coaches and players to offer high quality camps for all ages and skill levels throughout the summer.

“We are excited about another full summer of camps for the kids and youth of Mississippi,” said Executive Director Rusty Bryant. “With the coaching staff and quality of players that we are bringing in this summer, we are offering an even greater variety of camp experiences.”

The summer camp series kicks off with the popular Pathway to the Pros Camp on May 27-29. This unique camp offers kids 6-14 the opportunity to be trained with the team and by the team.

“This is a camp that can’t really be duplicated by anyone else in our area,” said Bryant. “For three days we show the campers what it is like to be a professional soccer player. Our players coach the campers in the mornings, but the campers actually train with the PDL team in the evenings. We even had the local media attend last year to interview the future pros."

The Pathway to the Pros Camp concludes with a PDL home game on May 29.

The June 15-18 Elite Camp offers soccer, sun, and swimming for 6-12 year olds. The camp is held at the Clinton YMCA, and the campers are able to spend some time in the pool after lunch.

Even the youngest of soccer players can participate in camp this summer with the Mighty Mites' Indoor Camp for 3-5 year olds. The Mighty Mites’ Camp takes place June 30-July 2 at the Clinton YMCA indoor facility. Participants are able to choose between a morning session and an evening session.

The latest addition to Brilla’s Summer Camp Series is a summer-long Goalkeeper/Striker Camp. The excitement of scoring goals and making the spectacular save can be experienced all summer long through this fun and high-intensity camp. Older youth 12-16 will meet each Tuesday morning for 5 weeks, while 8-11 year olds will meet each Wednesday morning.

Mississippi Brilla FC kicks off its PDL season on May 16 at 7:00 pm. All home games are played at Clinton High School’s Arrow Field.
