McKeever Adds Division 1 Duo to Brilla

Mississippi Brilla FC is welcoming another set of talented players into the organization for the coming season.  Matthew Rogers and Carlos Perales will make their Brilla debuts this summer, and both will be expected to contribute from the onset.

Rogers had a standout season at Oral Roberts University, where he was named First Team All-Summit League.  The junior forward scored seven goals, including game winners against USAO, Incarnate Word, and UC Irvine.  He also assisted on three others.  Rogers was a vital part of helping Oral Roberts reach the Summit League Conference Championship game.  Brilla coach Mark McKeever had much to say about the Mexico City, Mexico native.

Matt is a player that will be integral to MS Brilla winning games this summer. He is very good holding the ball with his back to goal and is versatile enough to also give us options in behind. Matt has an eye for the goal, and that instinct will allow him to score goals in the PDL. Having played 3 years in D1 for Oral Roberts, Matt has all the tools and experience to really shine this summer!”

Perales, a native of Spain, will add to the international flair of the team. He was a standout on Valencia's youth teams before venturing to the United States for college. Last season, he logged 19 games and 11 starts in Delaware's midfield.  He scored twice and assisted on another goal.  The sophomore was key to propelling the Blue Hens into back-to-back Colonial Athletic Association Championship games.

McKeever is looking for Perales to add quality to Brilla's midfield.

Carlos is a Spanish player currently playing D1 soccer at the University of Delaware. He is another attacking player we have coming in with tremendous pedigree! Carlos was brought up with Valencia FC in Spain and is playing for a great coach at University of Delaware. He is also a player that can provide a high level centrally or wide, and I am confident he will create a lot of goals for MS Brilla this summer. Carlos is very good technically and has the ability to create a lot for this team.”

Mississippi Brilla FC opens its PDL season with a home contest against Peachtree City on May 14. Home matches will be played at Clinton’s Traceway Park.
