    In a game where all of the goals were scored in the second half, Mississippi Brilla FC emerged as the 2-1 victors over Peachtree City MOBA.  Brilla showed their desire and determination when the chips were down, especially after falling behind by a goal.

    Peachtree City took the lead in the 64th minute. Bryson Asher's free kick was blocked by the Brilla wall, but the ball trickled out to defender Alex Rotolini.   • Brilla Tops CD Motagua

    Mississippi Brilla FC picked up their first ever US Open Cup win by beating CD Motagua of New Orleans 2-0. Goals from Brazilian Eduardo Cruz and Chilean Ignacio Flores provided the difference in the match. It was CD Motagua’s first ever Open Cup appearance and Brilla’s third.

    Cruz opened up the scoring in the 28th minute. The Brilla captain picked up the ball in the middle of the park and unleashed a venomous shot from 25 yards away. The shot deflected off of a Motagua player and went past the keeper Lamoy Graham.

    The first round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup will get kicked off on Wednesday, when CD Motagua of New Orleans travels up I-55 to face off against Mississippi Brilla FC. Both teams will play for the right to face the Oklahoma City Energy in the second round. Traceway Park in Clinton, Mississippi will be the venue for the winner-take-all match.

  • Cordeiro Brace Leads Brilla

    Memphis City FC of the NPSL traveled down to Traceway Park to face off against Brilla in an exhibition match.  It was the first match, but also an eventful match for both teams.  Brilla's players have had little time to get acclimated to their new teammates, but that did not prevent them from picking up a 3-2 victory.  Forward Lucas Cordeiro put in a man-of-the-match performance by scoring twice.

    The summer signings continue to roll in for Brilla, as Coach Mark McKeever has made two more additions.  Forward Lucas Cordeiro and midfielder Oscar Jimenez will be arriving in Clinton next week.  These two will bring professional experience, having both last played for the Tulsa Roughnecks of the USL.  

    Cordeiro played his college soccer at Oklahoma Wesleyan, where he was a teammate of former Brilla standout Lucas Almeida.  The Belo Horizonte, Brazil native scored 48 times for the Eagles, and his performance helped him land a professional contract with the newly formed Roughnecks.  In his lone...
