Brilla Falls At Home To TX United

TX United showed why they are the team to beat this season in the Mid South Division. The division leaders came to Mississippi and scored early and often to put away the hosts by a 5-1 scoreline. TX United runs its perfect start to the season to 4-0 while Brilla drops to 1-2-1.

After a decent start that included a couple of near chances by the home side, TX United got on the scoreboard first. In the 16th minute, Maycol Reyes won a ball down the touchline and served an easy ball across the mouth of the goal that Malik Henry-Scott buried for a 1-0 lead.

The visitors added to their lead in the 32nd minute when defender Slade Starnes scored on an assist from Tristan Singh. The final goal of the half came in the 35th minute when a free kick by Taylor Dyson found the head of Singh before finding the back of the net. The visitors took a commanding 3-0 lead into the halftime break.

After the break, Brilla quickly closed the gap to 3-1 in the 46th minute when Demitri Turner found a ball at his feet and blasted it into the corner. The momentum was short lived as TX United regained their 3 goal lead in the 57th minute. Diego Letayf scored off a rebound following a save by Andreas Kokoska.

In the 64th minute, Henry-Scott was a one man show for his second goal of the night, and the final goal of the match.
