McKeever Adds To PDL Coaching Staff

In December, Mississippi Brilla FC announced Mark McKeever of Young Harris College as the Head Coach of its Premier Development League team. McKeever is scheduled to take the reigns of the team’s ninth season when it kicks off in May.

McKeever recently added two components to his coaching staff in Matt Payne and Jordan Bell. Payne will serve as McKeever’s first assistant, while Bell will coach the goalkeepers.

Payne currently serves as the Head Coach at Brewton-Parker College in Georgia. Originally from Georgia, Payne played collegiately for Coach Mark McKeever at Young Harris College. Following his college playing career, Payne joined the coaching ranks through various high schools and youth club teams.

Bell is also no stranger to Coach Mark McKeever as he currently serves as his volunteer goalkeeper coach at Young Harris College. The Scotland native is the former goalkeeper for Upper Iowa University. Bell is coming off a knee injury, and could also compete for minutes in the goal this summer.

“We believe that Coach Mark is putting an excellent staff in place for the summer,” said Executive Director Rusty Bryant. “Matt and Jordan are great young coaches, and also quality young men. We couldn’t ask for better additions to our team this summer.”

Mississippi Brilla will begin its 2015 campaign in late May. Home games will be played at Clinton High School’s Arrow Field.
