• After battling for two draws on the road against a talented Brazos Valley Cavalry FC team (9-0-2), Mississippi Brilla FC (6-3-5) hosted the team from Texas to close out the 2019 season.

    After holding its own for much of the first half, a penalty kick in the 29th minute gave Cavalry FC an early 1-0 lead only to be answered by two more before the end of the first half.

    Brilla FC showed life after a well-put together goal from Harry Reilly to Sondre Olsen in the 56th minute for Brilla’s lone goal on the evening.

    CLINTON, Miss. – Mississippi Brilla FC and Houston FC tangled for the second time over the weekend in Clinton, and, once again, the home side came out on top. Following up on their 3-1 victory on Friday, Brilla finished the two-game home stand with a 2-0 win on a rainy Sunday night.

    Mississippi Brilla FC (5-1-2) stays on top of the USL League Two Mid-South Division after defeating Houston FC 3-1.

    Houston FC (1-4-2) struck first after a goal in the 15th minute putting Brilla instantly in recovery mode.

    Staying focused, Brilla continued to pressure the goal after many stops from Houston’s keeper, but Victor Pimentel found the back of the net after receiving a great cross from Arturo Astorga in the 31st minute. Astorga’s left footed cross found Pimentel in the air for the header.

    Despite relinquishing the first goal, Mississippi Brilla FC (4-1-2) rallied to put away the AHFC Royals (0-4-3) to earn their fourth win of the season and close out the first half of the 2019 season.

    The first half of the match finished scoreless after both teams attempted to find space behind the opposing defensive lines.

    After a three-game series against Texas United, Mississippi Brilla FC (2-0-1) hosted Corpus Christi FC (2-1) at home and took its first loss as they fell to Corpus Christi FC 6-3.

    Both teams broke into the match early with stiff physicality and a willingness to attack the goal.
