  • A lot will be new for Mississippi Brilla FC when the team kicks off their ninth season on May 16 with an exhibition against the Birmingham Hammers at Clinton High School.

A new coaching staff, as well as 21 players, will wear Brilla’s sky blue colors for the first time. While getting a large group of players on the same page in a very short amount of time is par for the course in the Premier Development League, it will be even more of a challenge this season. • A pair of former Leicester City Youth Scholars have been added to the Mississippi Brilla FC roster for the 2015 Premier Development League season. Last summer the PDL unveiled it's “Path to Pro" marketing slogan. With over 70% of the players drafted in the MLS SuperDraft coming from the PDL, the league is clearly the first step along the path to becoming a professional soccer player. Mississippi Brilla FC is...

  • The Premier Development League may seem far removed from the professional ranks of England, but former Middlesbrough defender Paul Weldon is hoping a change of scenery will lead to new opportunities.

Weldon added, “Personally, I am very ambitious, so hopefully this opportunity can help me return to the...
