Ibarra and Obradovic Sign With Brilla

Mississippi Brilla FC continues to build its roster for the 2015 Premier Development League season with the additions of Juan Ibarra and Perica Obradovic. Both players are coming off of strong college seasons in which they led their teams to NAIA national rankings. Ibarra’s UT-Brownsville team finished 24-1 with a #2 final ranking. Their lone defeat came in the national championship match. Obradovic helped guide Oklahoma Wesleyan to a #23 national ranking and a 14-5-2 record.

Ibarra is a native of Brownsville, TX, and scored 3 goals for his hometown college team in the Fall. Mississippi will be counting on the senior midfielder’s championship game experience to lead them this summer.

"Juan is a box to box midfielder who can also play the holding role in front of the back 4,” said Brilla Head Coach Mark McKeever. "Having played in the final of the NAIA he is well aware of the capabilities to succeed at the highest level.  Juan has a great work ethic and has the ability to do the simple things at a very high level. His experience will be a vital component.”

Obradovic follows in the footsteps of another former Oklahoma Wesleyan player, Lucas Almeida, that landed in Mississippi last year and will be returning this season. The sophomore defender from Serbia contributed 3 goals and 3 assists for his college team in the Fall.

"Perica is a player that see’s the game very well,” McKeever added. "His speed of play is at the highest level and I expect he will be at the heart of everything that will go on in our fast flowing game. Percia is another player I think can do the simple things at a very high level.”
